Who we are
We are a team of placement advisors devoted to one school's clinical process: that of the LHC Group · Myers School of Nursing at UL Lafayette. The focus is deliberate. The online MSN runs through a four-university consortium, clinicals for the MSN and the PMHNP certificate stay in Louisiana, and each practicum is built around a particular population, so broad knowledge of nurse practitioner placements only goes so far.
Our loyalty runs to the student. You bring your program, your course and your town; we bring a working command of what UL Lafayette, the ICMSN and Louisiana's Board of Nursing expect, and the persistence to find a preceptor who satisfies all three. The result is a placement shaped around your plan of study rather than a list of names to sort through on your own.

Our service has four parts, and every placement gets all of them. Nothing is handed off halfway: the advisor who starts your search is the one who sees your practicum through to its final week.

- The search: practices and clinicians near where you live, in Louisiana for the MSN and certificate, or in your home state for a DNP residency

What we know about UL Lafayette
Specializing in one school means knowing its details cold. The Family NP moves through NURS 582, NURS 583 and NURS 584, while the psychiatric track and the certificate share NURS 591 and NURS 592 but finish in different courses, NURS 593 and NURS 597. The 2026-27 catalog sets the Family NP minimum at 750 precepted hours where older sources said 600, and we flag differences like that for course faculty to settle rather than guess.
Consortium courses taught at McNeese, Nicholls or Southeastern can run on that school's dates. Mardi Gras and the Easter break both fall inside UL Lafayette's spring term. The DNP opens with an on-campus Orientation Intensive and closes with the Synthesis Project presentation. We are an independent placement desk, and approval belongs to UL Lafayette. The graduate coordinator reviews every preceptor, course faculty approve them, and Louisiana's Board keeps nurse faculty responsible for guiding and evaluating graduate students, with preceptors contributing input. Whether UL Lafayette helps with a given placement or not, our job stays the same: a preceptor and site inside its rules, and a file that reaches its faculty complete.
We respect the rules health systems set for students from every school, too. Where a system publishes its own process for student requests, we plan the search around it, which keeps your file clean and your standing with the site intact.
Who we serve
We serve students in UL Lafayette's online MSN nurse practitioner concentrations, the MSN in Nursing Education, the PMHNP Post-Master's Certificate and the post-MSN DNP. They live across Louisiana, from Lafayette and the surrounding Acadiana parishes to Baton Rouge, Lake Charles, New Orleans and the Northshore, Shreveport, Monroe and Alexandria, and DNP students may live in other states. Pre-licensure students follow a separate track: semester coordinators set traditional BSN lab days, and Accelerated BSN rotations run with Ochsner. That is why our work centers on the precepted graduate courses, where each student needs a named preceptor and a finished file.

UL Lafayette. Under the consortium handbook, the graduate coordinator reviews each preceptor and course faculty approve them. We are an independent placement desk working for the student, and our role is to bring them a preceptor who meets the rules and a complete file, so the decision rests on the merits.
Do you work with students outside Acadiana?
Yes. MSN and certificate students anywhere in Louisiana can work with us, from Lake Charles to Monroe, and DNP students can place their residency in their home state. Every search begins nearest your home and reaches outward only when your course population or schedule calls for it.
Who will I talk to when I get in touch?
